A  DOCUMENTARY TELLING THE STORY OF THE MENTAL HEALTH CRISIS FACING AGRICULTURE ACROSS THE U.K.
ABOUT

Through personal and emotional testimony, Under the Soil takes a look at the current mental health crisis facing U.K. Agriculture. Through the course of the documentary, we hear the stories of three individuals, all of whom have had struggles with mental health and for some, suicide. Starting with Matt, the farmer who lost half his flock during the beast from the East; followed by Tony and Tim, the man who tried to take his own life and the son who stopped him; and finally Emma, whose husband's struggle culminated in his suicide.

The film also includes information from the leading agricultural charity, the Farming Community Network (FCN) as well as the National Farmers Union (NFU). Presenting an educational but also heart felt story, exploring how ignoring the current crisis facing farming can lead to tragic consequences, and how these individuals are trying to change it.
